As a designer, it is really important to have a place where potential clients can go to view your recent work. The first time I built a portfolio site for myself was back in school. And up until now I had been using the same work and website design from school. To say that my work was outdated is an understatement. I don't think I realized how much I really have grown in the past 5 years. It's funny how I thought the branding I had created for myself was so representative of me. Looking back at it, I'm like, "My, how I've grown!" My work and skill level has really evolved and wasn't being accurately represented in my portfolio site.
Coming up with a brand new concept and design is extremely difficult, especially for yourself! I think that is really evident considering I started trying to rebrand myself and this site for 2+ years. In the end, I kept getting in creative ruts and continued pushing it off. I gained momentum within the past couple of months and finished both rebranding myself and creating a whole new portfolio of design work. I retaught myself Adobe Dreamweaver and built the entire thing from the ground up. As a non-web designer who knows nothing about coding, this was a huge feat for myself and I just want to shout it from the rooftops!
Without further delay, I am so pleased to share my completely rebranded, redesigned graphic design portfolio website:
