I'm a thrill-seeking, slighty ocd, cheese-loving Southern California girl. A graphic designer by trade. Photographer by choice. I’ve harnessed my knowledge of design + photography to help creators and business owners create high quality content, streamline the content creation process and build buzzworthy brands.
Because we all just want to create more impactful, beautiful things that we can be proud of, right?
my story
I quit my stable graphic design job at a Hollywood talent agency with only a one-way ticket to London in hand. I had been feeling stuck and uninspired for a while. It took being refused a promotion and having no portfolio to show for six years due to confidentiality, to push me to make a drastic change. I bravely, or some would say recklessly, decided to take the leap and quit my job.
I didn’t have any graphic design clients at the time, but I knew I had to challenge myself to create a business of my own instead of being glued to a desk every day.
Over the past 5 years, I’ve built a successful design business where I’ve helped individuals, start-up companies and established businesses by creating cohesive, on-brand materials such as logos and websites, marketing collateral, social media content and presentation decks.
Simultaneously, I had been running my travel blog and Instagram which I started in 2015.
I was traveling a lot in my mid to late 20’s and my friends/family would constantly ask me for travel recommendations or where I took certain pictures. It wasn’t until a co-worker encouraged me to start a blog, that I realized how much I loved sharing my personal stories and creating content.
After years of trying to find a way to combine my expertise in graphic design and my enthusiasm for social media, I finally found the path. I probably should have listened to my 10-year-old self who had dreams of becoming a teacher earlier.
I’ve set out to teach both adventure seekers and small business owners how to embrace their creative confidence on and off social media.
Everyone is in fact creative! Many just lack the tools to know how and what to create.
It’s my goal to help you tap into your creative side to create beautiful, impactful things that you can be proud of.

the story behind the name
If I had a choice, I would hands down choose sleeping in a bed over on the ground.
I’ll be honest, I used to hate the outdoors, the dirt and the bugs. Ok, I still hate being dirty and bugs, but I’ve since found an appreciation for the outdoors, mostly because I like taking pictures of it.
The name originated during a long weekend trip with my best friends. The plan was to switch between camping and staying in a hotel every other night for 4 nights. My friends were floored that I agreed to the plan. They had fun saying things like, “Shannon’s going camping?” and “Shannon’s doing what?”. After the memory filled trip, the saying quickly turned into “Shannon did what?” when reminiscing about our adventure.
When it came time to come choosing a name for my travel blog, it was pretty obvious I had a strong option. It was also a great way to turn a phrase that my friends were using to make fun of me into a positive.
In the end, I’m just exposing my edge in this buttoned-up life making people say SHANNON DID WHAT?
